LAND COVER MAPPING IN THE BRAZILIAN PAMPA WITH LANDSAT OLI AND TIRS BANDS

چکیده
When different time periods are considered, detection of past and present changes in land cover enabled, also for quantifying qualifying those changes. Land cover/use maps the primary tools management conservation natural man-made areas. For this, remote sensing bands reflected spectrum usually used, leaving aside thermal data. The objective this work was to evaluate inclusion band (b10) TIRS (Thermal Infrared Sensor) sensor landsat 8 satellite increase accuracy Pampa biome from object-oriented classification. development research, 11 scenes Landsat 8, OLI were used. Thus, 14 cells selected Brazilian Pampa, totaling 5% its area. following steps performed: obtaining surface temperature (LST) data vegetation indices; preparation; classification; validation with 1354 reference points analysis results. results showed that insertion bands, especially dates, increased discrimination among classes. classification presented 86% global accuracy. Therefore, it is recommended insert mapping environmental monitoring

Target Detection Method for Water Mapping Using Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS Imagery
Extracting surface water distribution with satellite imagery has been an important subject in remote sensing. Spectral indices of water only use information from a limited number of bands, thus they may have poor performance from pixels contaminated by ice/snow, clouds, etc. The detection algorithms using information from all spectral bands, such as constrained energy minimization (CEM), could ...

Comparing the Capability of Sentinel 2 and Landsat 8 Satellite Imagery in Land Use and Land Cover Mapping Using Pixel-based and Object-based Classification Methods
Introduction: Having accurate and up-to-date information on the status of land use and land cover change is a key point to protecting natural resources, sustainable agriculture management and urban development. Preparing the land cover and land use maps with traditional methods is usually time and cost consuming. Nowadays satellite imagery provides the possibility to prepare these maps in less ...
متن کاملLandsat 8 vs. Landsat 5: A comparison based on urban and peri-urban land cover mapping
An image dataset from the Landsat OLI spaceborne sensor is compared with the Landsat TM in order to evaluate the excellence of the new imagery in urban landcover classification. Widely known pixel-based and object-based image analysis methods have been implemented in this work like Maximum Likelihood, Support Vector Machine, k-Nearest Neighbor, Feature Analyst and Sub-pixel. Classification resu...
متن کاملMonitoring the earth surface temperature and relationship land use with surface temperature using of OLI and TIRS Image
Earth surface temperature is an important indicator in the study of energy equilibrium models at the ground level on a regional and global scale. Due to the limitation of meteorological stations, remote sensing can be an appropriate alternative to the Earth's surface temperature. The main objective of this study is to monitor the surface temperature and its relationship with land use, which is ...
